Put Your Camera Phone to Use!

The Digital Inspiration website has an article on interesting uses for your camera phone, a couple of these I have used myself. The include :

Finding your car in a parking lot. I have used this at airports and places with either labeled, color coded or distinctive parking sections. Just take a picture of your row number or a couple of pictures of the surroundings to help you find your car in the sea of parking spaces when you come back out to look for it.

Use it as a mirror. If you don’t have a mirror around and you want to make sure your hair looks good or there aren’t bags under your eyes, snap a couple of photos of yourself and check. I have used this after pulling a couple of all nighters. Works okay.

Replace Paper and Pen with your camera. Take photo notes, can’t remember your doctor’s name or the room number of your early morning class. Grab it with your camera phone. Need a copy of the shopping list grab it with your camera.

The article mentions shopping uses for your camera phone, but it left one of my favorites out. Are you out at the book store and wonder how much the book is on Amazon, grab a photo of the ISBN#. When you get home you can look the book up by that number and see there prices. There are also uses for your phone that don’t include your camera. About once a week when I am in a very dark situation, I will flip open my phone and use it as a flashlight. The screen will provide just enough light to walk down a pitch black sidewalk or to not bump into anything in a dark hallway. I also hear that you can use your phone to make phone calls to other people - although that might just be an urban legend.

I use my phone as a flashlight all the freaking time.

I do not have a camera on my phone.

I seriously need to get a much nicer phone and get with the times.

I have seen cell phones that have flash lights built into them. I am glad I am not the only one though using it to light the way. Strumpet you just don’t know the joys of a brand new high tech phone that takes you a year to figure out how to do everything it does.

Thanks Rebecca, be sure to check out the original article.

I don’t think I could live with out my phone. It is my net connection most of the time, I use it to take notes and remember quotes. And yes it is a darn good flash light also.

yeah this is great. I have taken to using my phone for finding my car since I am apparently getting old and forget where I park now a days.

Some I might add to the list…
    - Alarm clock
    - Watch
    - Espionage :)

My phone is my full time watch these days. If you are going to forget where you put your 40D let me know and it can be arranged.
