Your Camera, Don’t Leave Home Without It

Digital Photography School has a great article on 5 reasons you should take your camera with you everywhere in 2008. The best reason in my opionion is number 2:

You’ll take more pictures - it sounds obvious - and it is - but the result of more pictures is that you’ll improve your averages of taking a good one!

Other good reasons include that you will see the world different and you will experiment more. I took over 10,000 images last year, a good friend of mine did over 40,000. How many are you going to take this year?

I definitely should take a camera everywhere. My problem? I have a big camera… and the smaller “snapshot” camera we have frustrates me because I have trouble being overly creative with it. But maybe that’s part of the point. :)

I have a Digital Rebel XT with a battery grip and a pair of lenses that are both a good deal larger than the kit lens. I wish I brought my camera with me every also. In the old days when I had an almost all metal film camera I didn’t mind tossing it my bag and running. I don’t think I could ever do that with my digital camera.
