Firefox shortcuts

I saw a conversation on Lifehacker today that made me realize that not everyone knows about this quick little shortcut to get to a couple of popular websites.
In the address bar type the letter “g” and hit enter, you will be taken directly to gmail. Typing the letter “a” takes you to the wikipedia entry for a. The way this works, from what I understand, is that the address bar will take you to the top result the same if you go to google.com and click the “I’m feeling lucky” search button.
Play around with this and if you find any fun short cuts be sure to leave them in the comments.

I’ve never seen this I’m Feeling Lucky button.
That’s only too awesome.
I’m not quite sure I understand what it does, though.
It sounds very metaphysical, but what it really does is take you to the number one result for whatever your search is for.
Isn’t that what most search engines do anyway by the order of how they are listed?
Or am I completely misinformed on this?
I’m all confused now.
But, that’s okay, cos I still haven’t gone searching for the I’m Feelin’ Lucky button, so I’m a little behind on this topic yet.
The I am feeling lucky button takes you directly to the number one result and skips the results page all together. So if you go to google and type in Jared Byer and hit I am feeling lucky it will bring you directly here. If you hit search it will bring you to a page of results where you can then click on me and come here.
